T minus 5 days until CS 2007 Launch

We are getting really really close to shipping Community Server 2007.  Yesterday we put Release Candidate 1 up for download to give the bits a final public test this week before the scheduled launch next Monday.

A few months ago Rob Howard announced the release date as Monday April 16, and it looks like were actually going to make it.  The features and known bugs slated for this version have been tucked into bed, and we have a few days post-RC1 to tackle any last minute critical bugs that may pop up.

Next week the Community Server dev team, who is scattered throughout the country, will be gathering at the Telligent HQ in Dallas to celebrate and plan out future versions and features of CS.  The last time we all got together was after the v2.0 launch in Feb 2006, which resulted in the plans being laid for v2.1 and v3 (a.k.a. 2007). It'll be interesting to see what we end up calling the next version of CS released in 2007:  CS 2007.1, CS 2007 and a half, CS 2007 July* edition?  =)

* Disclaimer: I have no idea what month v.next will be released in yet. July used only as an example for humour purposes.
