Community Server 2.0 released!

After 8 months of development, Community Server 2.0 final was released today! I joined Telligent on June 1 of 2005 and we released CS 1.1 on June 15. So pretty much my entire time here has been dedicated to CS 2.0 and I am extremely excited about this release.Community Server 2.0

There are two downloads released this morning: a web installer & upgrade package, and a MSI package. The web package is what you need to upgrade an existing Community Server site, or to install a new site on shared hosting. If you have full access to your web server, you can use the new windows installer (MSI) wizard to install a new site.

We will also be releasing the source code for all of the core CS 2.0 components with both VS2003 and VS2005 solution & project files. You will be able to download that by the end of today. The details about the release are in the CommunityServer.org Announcement Blog.

This week all of the Community Server team developers are flying into Dallas to celebrate the launch and strategize about CS 3.0. Not to mention shoot each other in Day Of Defeat. =) This will be the first time I've met most of them in person, as the team is spread out all over the country. Should be a great time!
