New Downloadable CS 2007 Theme Coming Soon
Recently I updated this site to the final release bits of Community Server 2007. I also temporarily reverted the theme back to the default blue one while I work on updating and improving my custom CS 2007 theme that I was using previously.
The custom theme was written against beta 2 so it needed a few updates. But more importantly I wanted to greatly expand it to cover all CS applications and pages so I can release it for free public download. Previously I had only bothered to skin the pages I was using on this site, and hard coded the styles to be exactly the way I wanted.
The new version I'm working on will have my site's colors and styles by default, but I'm making most of the styles configurable using the Chameleon theme configuration settings. So you'll be able to change background images/colors, fonts, etc. using the Control Panel UI screen, or use the CSS override value for more extensive customization.
Of course now that it'll be a public theme it needs a good name. I didn't want to use the original name of the Arcsin template that I based it off of (Beautiful Day) since there are many changes. I'm leaning towards GulfCoasting. My goal is to get this released within the next week as part of the Community Server 2007 Theming Extravaganza.
By the way, if you enjoy creating or porting web site themes (or just love winning great prizes), then please please submit a Community Server 2007 design as part of the Theming Extravaganza contest. You are guaranteed to at least get a free Community Server Personal license ($99 value), plus could possibly win a laptop, XBox 360 Elite, or Amazon gift card! And even better, you will be helping the entire Community Server community by increasing the number of quality themes available.
